Cluster Area: Lancaster & Morecambe District
Cluster History:
ICT/New Media Group was formed initially by the Lancashire West Partnership in 2002/03, supported by Business Link, Lancaster University, Lancaster, West Lancs, Blackpool and South Ribble Economic Development Units.
The Lancaster ICT Cluster evolved from this and is the largest and oldest cluster, with over 100 members. It has been used as best practise for setting up new clusters across the region.
The Lancaster ICT Cluster
- Provides a free and open exchange of knowledge and information to maximise business opportunities
- Enables customers to source their ICT needs locally
- Promotes Lancaster as a centre of excellence for ICT
Cluster Skills Set:
The Lancaster ICT Cluster brings together the expertise and creativity of ICT businesses from across Lancaster and comprises of a broad mix of companies working in the ICT and New Media sectors, two of the fastest growing sectors in the region.
Average Meeting Frequency: Bimonthly
Meeting Location: Split between Lancaster University’s InfoLab21, CityLab and Cluster member company residences.
Current Chairperson: Revolving chairperson depending on cluster meeting topics.
