September Cluster Group Meeting - 09 September 09 - Kendal College, Conference Room 2

« back to list

George Holme is the procurement officer with South Lakeland District Council who also sits on the board for procurement at County level. He’s kindly agreed to come and chat to us about public sector procurement in Cumbria and will cover the following topics:

• Where to find out about public sector contracts
• What to do when you find a contract you’d like to ‘go for’
• What the council are looking for in a tender document
• Where to get feedback from if you’re not successful

Also on the agenda will be:

• Different levels of procurement (eg. Requirements for contracts of different financial value. eg. How to quote, by email, formal tender etc.)
• Discussion of the pre qualification questionnaire (PQQ)

George will be able talk with a specific perspective on local procurement and explain the SLDC/Cumbria Country Council approaches in terms of any specific local requirements and hopefully add an insight into how we as businesses can best position ourselves to benefit from tendering to local procurement schemes.

This should be a great session to help anyone who wants to get involved with the public sector.

The meeting is intended for anyone involved in a digital or creative business. We start at 6pm at Kendal College in the seminar rooms on the first floor, literally above the main front entrance.

Attendance at the meeting is free but please contact the Kendal group co-ordinator Andrew Armitage if you would like to come along. A light sandwich buffet and refreshments will be available at the end of the meeting.
